Mike, there must have been a ‘mom’ figure somewhere who gave you good guidance, because you seem to have done well so far!
My maternal grandmother. She had the best of intentions so far as my sister and I were concerned — even convinced our dad that she had legal custody of us when she didn’t.
I thought I heard you talk about your maternal grandmother in the past. She did well!
Mom shared both good and bad advice ~ the good advice I’ve tried to hang on to. The rest I ignore. 😛
So did mine, Nancy. I think they did their best for the times they lived in.
I like that. Moping. Mopping would make me mope. No question.
Daughter always says this: “Listen to your mother.” Which pleases me greatly.

WWW, I have few of those illustrations, but thought mopping the floor fitted best for today.
No way I follow my mother’s advice on anything at all. She has such a weird way of looking at things, usually based on tabloid scare-stories about hygiene, germs, epidemics etc etc!
Nick, I knew a few women like that, some scared the spirit out of their children, but some survived to tell the tale.
