Now I have news for you…. but I am very busy today and recovering from chasing a Toyboy yesterday, so it will have to keep until later ❗

    I got a present of some crispy seaweed and dried cuttlefish yesterday (from Singapore) so I think I’ll skip on the dulse, thanks!

  3. At first I wondered why you haad taken a photo of Licorice allsorts…..

    Ate dulse once on a field trip…then introduced people to Samphire….now it’s very trandy…but still lovely!

  4. We call dulse ‘dilsk’ up home in Sligo. It’s actually great in meat stews because it acts as a flavour enhancer, much like MSG

  5. Keith that is a new one for me. I only ever heard of dulse eaten raw. Maybe I’ll become a fan now!

  6. It’s much underappreciated, I think, seeing as there’s piles of it especially off the west and north coasts of the island. We should be using more of it in our food. Methinks part of the reason why people don’t eat more of it is that raw it evokes much the same reaction as Marmite: you either love it or hate it because it has such a strong taste. However, when it’s combined with other foods, it’s great.

  7. I’ve been wondering how to do this. I’ll have to go read some more forums I guess. It was fun enlarging all the photos and seeing what things look like up close–almost like picking them up and examining them myself. I hope I can figure it out! One more challenge in my old age.

    Alas, I do not have a recipe for ‘yellow man’. It is popular at Fairs and market stalls here in Northern Ireland, but I have never come acroos anyone who has made it.
