Happy Birthday to my Baby.
The 6th of May is for me a time of reflection. With each passing year there are more memories to ponder over. I think about all the things that Elly has accomplished over the years. From an early age she showed great promise and talent.
She became a sculptor
She learned to dance to the Birdie Song
She learned to cook
She became a bookworm
Became expert at Car maintenance
Carried out surveys
Became accomplished as a needle woman
With this wealth of talent George must have a very easy life β
(pity we forgot to teach her to wash dishes;) )
Awwww! Happy Birthday Elly!
The Birdy song… really? π
(Dunno if I should have been first to comment…)
Aye, the birdie song – twas very popular in the Spanish resorts in the early 80’s! Shame, however that I’ve forgotten a lot of those talents over the years.
Thanks Mum – I love you! xxx
Well it was either the Birdie song or push pineapple etc.
Have a great day and year ahead.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Elly!
All the best people are born under the sign of Taurus π
(Mind you I was meant to be a Gemini but arrived early)
Great family photos! Grannymar
Talk about a proud Mum, and rightly so!
Awww! She was so cute! And then she grew up… π
Darren – you watch it, or I’ll slag off your hair tonight!!!
@Elly Noooooo! I’m sensitive! π¦
Steph ~ Are you another May blossom?
Darragh & Darren ~ You have my permission to tease her rotten tonight since I wonβt be there to do it myself π
A May blossum I am, GM…
though the blossom’s looking a bit withered these days π
I’m not telling you the date for fear of seeing my life in pics! π
I shan’t be teasing Elly GM (at least not while the other half is watching… he’s a big bloke!) – Darren on the other hand is fair game }:)
Happy birthday Elly!
The picture entitled ‘She became a bookworm’ has a 60’s FIAT 600D in the background. That was my first car!
Happy birthday to both of you: Elly and GM.
Lovely pics and memories.
You done each other proud, girls.

Everyone, thanks for all the birthday wishes!! I’m home from work, about to pour a glass of wine and get ready to go out tonight – big party planned! I’m sure I’ll have the head to prove it tomorrow…
Thanks everyone, I was out enjoying the sunshine. I am sure there will be a noisy party in Dublin tonight.

30 ain’t the end of the twenties … it’s the beginning of a new exciting decade ….
Happy birthday Elly …. and happy anniversary Grannymar!
Happy Birthday Elly!!! π Kudos to you, Grannymar, for raising such a gifted daughter. π
Happy birthday Elly (wow that’s three from me) Have a bender!
Happy birthday Elly π
On the subject of washing dishes – Man’s work! I remember living in my first student flat on Baggot St. It was a dingy basement but it was home and it was freedom. I shared with 2 girls, one a friend’s girlfriend and the other her friend. We all landed with our assorted collections of non matching cuttlery and crockery but I also had a box which contained at least 30 mugs! Great Gillian said – We will only have to wash up once a week (and she meant it) – I spent the rest of the year cleaning up after the two of them π And to cap it all I slept in the pantry which was the so called 2nd bedroom! I know this has nothing to do with your post but it just came to mind.
30 is the beginning of the rest of her life.
Thank you everyone for the greetings.
PaddyAnglican, Elly never learned to wash dishes ’cause her dad did all of them (his idea)!

Happy birthday to your dear Elly! I’m only 6 days behind, (mine’s the 12th) but I’ll be at least 30 years older. May birthday people rule!
Alice
count only the days not the years!
Belated Birthday Wishes, Elly.
I’ve been out of the loop because herself is exactly 30 years and 2 days older than you…. Sorry I should have said Janet is…..
